What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advertising Sales Executive position at The Desert Leaf?
Desert Leaf Magazine is a locally rooted publication dedicated to thoughtful storytelling and strong community connection. We’re looking for someone who shares those values—someone who enjoys people, takes initiative, and is energized by building meaningful relationships.
This role blends advertising sales, client care, and office coordination. You’ll work closely with the publisher, editor, art director, and clients to help bring each issue to life while supporting the day-to-day rhythm of the office.
What You’ll Do- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners
- Manage a mix of inside (phone/email) and outside (in-person) advertising sales
- Grow and care for an active client list, with a focus on long-term partnerships
- Collaborate with clients and our Art Director to create effective, polished ads
- Help coordinate timelines, materials, and communication for each publication cycle
- Support overall office operations to keep things running smoothly
- Naturally curious about people and enjoys connecting
- A self-starter who is comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Strong communicator with a relationship-first mindset
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable interacting with a wide range of clients, including established and high- profile individuals
- At ease working in an Apple/Mac-based environment

CompensationBase salary plus commission, based on experience
