What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donation Processor/Instructor position at The Depot?
Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and reliable person to join our team at The Depot for a Monday - Friday position. The ideal candidate will be creative and have a passion for helping others. This position will primarily focus on donation processing including intake, donation pick up and deliveries, cleanup and repair, placing items on the sales floor, and may also include helping with programming like woodworking and welding, or running the register. Moving and arranging heavy items as well as loading and unloading items for customers will be a regular part of this job, and candidates must be able to move, bend, and lift consistently with or without reasonable accommodations.
Description:
- Process donations with members of the team, including intake, cleanup and repair, pricing, and putting on sales floor, including clients in all aspects of the process.
- Assist with donation pick up and deliveries.
- Assist customers in loading purchases into their vehicles using safe techniques.
- Perform basic cleaning and minor repairs of donations and other items at the store.
- Move items around the store using carts, dollies and other devices.
- Provide excellent customer service while intaking donations, assisting customers with questions, and showing customers items.
- Assemble furniture and other items for the retail floor.
- Performs necessary cleaning and maintenance of displays and building.
- Assist with other store functions as needed, including woodworking, welding, running the register, etc.
- Communicate effectively and work as a cohesive member of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability and willingness to work Monday - Friday, 40 hour/week schedule
- Ability to safely bend and lift heavy objects, move frequently, and stand for long periods of time
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience driving a truck/small trailer, or willingness to learn
- Woodworking and/or welding experience a plus
- Previous experience working with persons with disabilities
- Previous experience in customer service
