The Impact you will have in this role:
Being a member of IT CSS-WRAFT Delivery team, in this role, you will be a hands‑on technical leader for the mainframe core of Fund/SERV—the industry’s centralized platform for processing and settling mutual fund transactions—driving resiliency, performance, and change safety for systems used by hundreds of firms and tens of thousands of securities daily. You’ll reduce key‑person and legacy‑system risk by strengthening engineering practices on COBOL/DB2/CICS/MQ, improving test/deploy automation, and capturing/curating system knowledge. You’ll also partner across Product, Operations, and distributed engineering to advance our modernization agenda (APIs, data access, and platform simplification), while improving “follow‑the‑sun” support readiness and cross‑site collaboration. The measurable outcome: faster, safer releases; higher availability; and more predictable delivery for our mutual funds ecosystem.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute migration initiatives to upgrade legacy mainframe applications, ensuring minimal business disruption, improved resiliency, and alignment with DTCC technology standards.
- Act as a technical expert on one or more applications used by DTCC
- Work with the Business System Analyst to ensure designs satisfy functional requirements
- Partner with Infrastructure to identify and deploy efficient hosting environments
- Tune application performance to eliminate and reduce issues
- Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with DTCC technology standards
- Apply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs
- Contribute expertise to the design of components or individual programs, and participate in the construction and functional testing
- Support development teams, testing, troubleshooting, and production support
- Build applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
- Work with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk; calls out concerns appropriately

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Knowledge in Designing and Developing sophisticated Online and Batch Mainframe Application with COBOL as programming language, CICS as TPM, DB2 as RDBMS
- Knowledge on MQ and DB2 Connect as interface to communicate with Distributed Web application.
- Solid understanding in Batch jobs using JCL with Catalog procedures and files (PS/PDS/VSAM)
- Perform and maintain scheduling activities of Batch Schedules using CA-Scheduler
- Expertise in Application programming IDEs for Mainframe (IDZ)
- Solid understanding in Version control/Config. Management tools such as Changeman
- Expertise in reverse-engineering of Mainframe applications involving DB2 and CICS
- Develops a culture where integrity and clarity are encouraged.
