We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate automation initiatives across our organization. This role serves as the central point of contact for planning, organizing, and overseeing automation projects, ensuring alignment with DevSecOps principles and driving efficiency in delivery. You will facilitate collaboration between development, security, and operations teams while maintaining compliance with governance and security standards.

- DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).
We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate automation initiatives across our organization. This role serves as the central point of contact for planning, organizing, and overseeing automation projects, ensuring alignment with DevSecOps principles and driving efficiency in delivery. You will facilitate collaboration between development, security, and operations teams while maintaining compliance with governance and security standards.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- Manage automation projects and ensure timely delivery of use cases.
- Maintain and prioritize the automation backlog in collaboration with collaborators.
- Facilitate sprint planning and stand-ups for automation initiatives.
- Define and enforce automation standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with DevSecOps principles and security policies.
- Monitor alignment to GitOps workflows and version control practices.
- Act as liaison for tool usage and integration (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible Automation Platform, Nexus, Jira, etc.).
- Support onboarding and training for automation tools and frameworks.
- Find opportunities for process improvement and automation expansion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for automation-related queries.
- Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and reports to leadership.
- Facilitate collaboration between developers, security teams, and operations.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodology and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks: Ansible, Python, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus, Jira.
- Familiarity with GitOps workflows and version control systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Background in systems engineering, automation development, or DevOps roles.
- Knowledge of security compliance and governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar).
