The Operations Manager, Contracts is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the DNC’s contracts process. As lead of the contracts team, the Operations Manager, Contracts will manage and support the overall maintenance of the contracts process, collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure they are properly trained and have a full understanding of our processes, and routinely refine and improve our contracts system as needed to support the work of the organization. This role will be responsible for following up on contract requests and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, holding regular meetings with all teams, leading internal Contracts team meetings and ensuring accurate record-keeping of our contracts. Additionally, the Operations Manager, Contracts will work closely with the entire Operations Department, Legal, Accounting, Human Resources teams and our Senior Leadership team to execute contracts, onboard and offboard contractors in a timely manner, regularly generate contract related reports, and accomplish a wide range of organizational projects and initiatives.

- Serve as lead of the contracts team and support the overall day-to-day function of the internal process including drafting contracts, confirm approvals needed, institute quality assurance mechanisms, collaborate with external parties on an agreeable contract, and shepherd contracts to execution;
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of relevant contract documents;
- Evaluate our current processes and systems and make recommendations for improving the contract process, instituting mechanisms for leadership review and approval, and accountability measures that keep our stakeholders both internal and external informed of their expectations and budgetary limitations
- Serve as a liaison between our internal departments, Legal, external vendors and consultants, and other stakeholders to execute contracts;
- Brief and correspond with senior leadership on a daily and weekly basis to shepherd contracts through the approvals process
- Collaborate with the Operations team, HR department, and IT to facilitate onboardings for incoming contractors and offboarding for outgoing contractors;
- Assist the organization’s Accounting team in reconciling invoices with contract documentation as requested and gather relevant accounting documents for new vendors;
- Assist in-house counsel and external firms with answering questions pertaining to any contracts submitted through our standard workflow;
- Respond to inquiries and contract questions from across the organization;
- Facilitate routine contract and database trainings for the organization;
- Collaborate with departments to develop internal systems to keep teams organized;
- Facilitate the contracts on-call schedule to ensure adequate contracts processing coverage on evenings and weekends, especially during peak times when expeditious processing may be necessary
- Track and notify teams of upcoming contract expirations, support teams with contract renewals as needed, and proactively communicate critical contract expirations and renewals to senior leadership
- Assist with special projects as instructed by the Deputy Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, or Operations Director;
- Assist with general Operations functions including Front Desk Operations for the DNC including answering calls as well as greeting staff and guests to the organization's space;
- Other duties as assigned to support the Operations team and the DNC's mission

- A Bachelor’s degree or minimum 4 years experience in project management required
- Prior contract management experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience with CRM and/or project management software preferred
- Experience interfacing and communicating with senior leadership
The starting salary for the Operations Manager, Contracts position is $65,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, which means you will not be eligible for overtime pay. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500. The Operations Manager, Contracts position is based in the DC metro area, is an in-person role and will require travel, which could be up to 15% of the time.
