Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sonographer role located in Lewes, DE. The Sonographer will perform obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations, including routine and high-risk prenatal scans, following established protocols and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating ultrasound equipment, capturing diagnostic-quality images, and ensuring accurate documentation in the medical record. The Sonographer will collaborate closely with maternal-fetal medicine specialists and other clinical staff, communicate findings to the supervising physician, and support a respectful, patient-centered environment. Additional duties may include maintaining equipment, adhering to infection control guidelines, and assisting with scheduling and workflow to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB/GYN specialty or eligibility to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.
• Graduation from an accredited sonography or diagnostic medical imaging program.
• Demonstrated experience performing obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound exams in a clinical setting, preferably in maternal-fetal medicine or women’s health.
• Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to provide clear explanations, respond to questions, and demonstrate empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, and to adapt to changing clinical priorities.
• Proficiency in using ultrasound equipment and related imaging software; basic computer skills for electronic health record documentation.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and safety regulations.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, quality improvement activities, and training on updated ultrasound techniques and guidelines.
