Account Director, Travel PR

Welcome to The Decker/Royal Agency, a creative communications and marketing agency growing brands in travel. We're seeking an Account Director to complement our team of publicists, creators and marketers in NYC and London. Account Directors at D/R are both high-level thinkers and hands-on doers. They lead client relationships and team strategy, but aren’t afraid to jump in when deadlines are tight or priorities shift. ADs know how to toggle between big-picture strategy and day-to-day detail, ensuring that every deliverable meets both creative and strategic goals.

The right candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, excellent media contacts, at least 8 years agency and/or brand experience, preferably in the travel sphere, a great sense of humor and a valid passport. This is a remote role, with preference for candidates based in the NYC or Tri-State area.

Duties may include:

• Maintain impactful media relationships
• Develop and oversee client PR programs, ensuring both strategic and tactical excellence
• Lead integrated communications initiatives and provide senior counsel to clients
• Actively participate in client meetings and presentations
• Pitch in on high-level writing, editing, or strategic media relations when needed to support the team
• Ensure teams are resourced and operating effectively; identify opportunities for agency innovation and efficiency
• Handle crises and sensitive issues with poise
• Mentor and develop team members across levels, including managing up to senior leadership
• Support new business pursuits and agency initiatives
