What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Production Worker - First Shift position at The Dayton Forging & Heat Treating Company?
The Dayton Forging & Heat Treating Company is searching for a self-starting individual to come join our family owned and operated team of 40 employees. Started in 1919, we provide custom forgings, bar stock, heat treating and rough machining.
· Prepares materials for treatment by wiring, plugging, racking, sealing, fixturing.
· Stage parts for production with the use of crane and/or forklift
Load and unload furnaces with the use of forklifts and cranes
· Load parts to minimize warpage
· Light furnaces, regulating fuel and air supply to control heat
· Determine proper heating and cooling times for material
· Determine proper quench times
· Operates quench oil pumps
· Quench parts
· Rough straightening
· Grinds parts for hardness checking
· Hardness checking and recording
· Shot blast material
· Monitors furnaces hourly in the Heat Treat Department in the absence of the Operator
· Perform and assist in the cleaning of equipment and facility
· Perform and assist in the repair of equipment and facility
· Load and unload parts onto motorized vehicles with the use of overhead cranes and forklifts
· Weigh, count and receive incoming parts and supplies
· Prepares parts for shipment per job instruction (skidding, wrapping, crating, banding, etc.)
· Transport parts between departments with the use of cranes, tugs and forklifts
· Operate grinders and other hand tools
All other duties as assigned. This is a heavy manufacturing job with lots of growth opportunity.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
18 years of age or older
Previous forklift experience helpful
Previous overhead crane experience helpful
