Preschool Center Director (Site Supv. or Master Teacher Permit required)
Lead our new pre-school center (ages 2-5 years) at Ashland Roots Community Center in San Leandro, CA
• $74,000 - $77,000 a year

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
• Responsible for the overall center operations to ensure quality, safety and subsidy compliant childcare services.
• Hire and supervise center staff and ensure appropriate lesson plans and child-teacher interactions.
• Maintains proper teacher-to-child ratios in accordance with licensing requirements.
• Maintain enrollment in collaboration with Enrollment Specialists to ensure operating costs stay within budget.
• Manage daily food program, including reporting requirements, ordering food supplies, supervising meal preparation staff, and complying with child nutritional needs.
• Participating in classrooms as needed to substitute, provide breaks or ratio coverage needs.
• Oversee and/or conduct parent/teacher conferences and provide information to parents concerning their child's development, abilities, and areas of concern.
• Perform outreach activities to support center enrollment.
• May provide support and work in collaboration with other Center Directors and teaching staff.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Site Supervisor or Master Teacher permit
• Related experience, supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and people skills to interact with diverse needs of staff, children and families
• Dependable and good time management skills
• Proficient Computer skills using Microsoft office and Specialized Child Care Software applications.
• Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
• Live scan clearance
• Health Screening Report including TB test clearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift children or heavy items up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to bend, stand, climb, walk, and perform physical activities as needed.
• Ability to work safely in an environment that may include bodily fluids, waste, germs, childhood illnesses, and diseases.
