Job Duties
Primary duties will include:
- Stream restoration design and preparation of project drawings
- Stream assessment and monitoring
- Stream restoration construction oversight
- Hydrologic watershed analysis
- Hydraulic analysis of open and closed drainage systems
- Stormwater management (SWM), low-impact development (LID), and best management practices (BMP) design
- County and state dam inspections and dam safety consulting
- Wetland mitigation design and preparation of project drawings
- FEMA map revision requests
- Floodproofing and flood mitigation design
- Floodplain studies
- Clean Water Act permitting
- Chesapeake Bay Critical Area delineation
- Chesapeake Bay preservation studies and approvals
- Preparation of presentations for hearings and client reviews
- Other civil and environmental studies
- Computer-aided design (CAD) using Autodesk® software
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Up to five years of relevant experience
- Experience with stream restoration design
- Experience with hydrologic and/or hydraulic modeling
- Experience with dam break studies and inundation mapping
- Experience with floodplain modeling and/or FEMA map revisions
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and TR-55
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a closely related discipline
