Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining the bank’s accounting systems through accurate account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial reports. This role supports daily, monthly, and periodic accounting functions, with cross-training provided across all areas of responsibility.
Job Duties
- Perform reconciliations for a variety of accounts, including:
- ITMs, ATMs, and vault cash
- Correspondent bank accounts and statements
- ACH and demand deposit accounts (DDA)
- Reserve and settlement accounts (including commercial loans and CDs)
- Credit cards and cash advances
- Mortgage and consumer loan accounts (principal, interest, escrow, etc.)
- Suspense and loss accounts
- Bank-issued checks and digital payment platforms (e.g., Netteller)
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
- Maintain and update internal work papers and documentation
- Assist in the preparation of board reporting materials and financial packets
- Support office operations by assisting with supply ordering and mail distribution as needed
- Provide operational support to courier services, including coordination of duties during absences
- Escort vendors within secure areas of the facility in compliance with internal policies
- Complete assigned monthly tasks and assist with special projects as needed
- Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller, or Chief Financial Officer

Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or training in accounting preferred
- Skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude
- Proficiency with keyboarding and 10-key calculator
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Frequent use of computers and accounting systems
- Experience
- Prior clerical or accounting-related experience preferred
