Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Oyster Shucker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food handling and a keen interest in the food industry, particularly in seafood preparation.
As an Oyster Shucker, you will be responsible for expertly shucking oysters and ensuring they are prepared to the highest standards for our guests. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Oyster shucking is hard but rewarding work. Lifting heavy ice buckets and cases of oysters required. Expect sore hands and shoulders. Base pay plus tips!
Responsibilities
- Skillfully shuck oysters while maintaining proper food handling techniques.
- Ensure all oysters are cleaned and presented beautifully for service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the oyster station and surrounding areas.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about oyster varieties and preparation methods.
Skills
- Proven experience in food handling within a restaurant or culinary setting.
