What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Cashier position at The Dairy Bar?
We are looking for seasonal and year round staff. The pay rate is $13.50-15 per hour plus tips.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take food orders with accuracy and enthusiasm, ensuring all requests are clearly understood.
- Use POS system to take food and drink orders.
- Handle cash register operations, process cash and card payments, and give correct change while maintaining accuracy in cash handling.
- Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, including assembling orders and managing food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean workspace by sanitizing counters, utensils, and equipment regularly to uphold sanitation standards.
- Ensure adherence to food safety management practices, including proper food handling and sanitation protocols.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely when involved in food prep activities, following all safety guidelines.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service & fast food restaurant environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Strong food handling knowledge and understanding of food safety standards within the restaurant industry.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash register operations and retail math calculations.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with customers and team members positively.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining a clean workspace in accordance with sanitation regulations.
