Position Summary: Works in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Executive Director to plan, coordinate, and direct the operations of the Human Resources Department. Responsible for coordinating hiring, disciplining and terminating employees according to State and Federal guidelines. Ensures compliance with local, state, and Federal labor laws. Administers the wage and salary program; worker’s compensation and safety programs; employee benefits; and employee activities programs.

Status: Full-Time Exempt

1. Plan, coordinate, and implement the operations of the Human Resources Department.

2. Oversee the hiring, disciplining and terminating of employees in the facility, ensuring adherence to facility policies and procedures.

3. Receive, review and process all employment applications.

4. Assist in preparing the yearly budget regarding benefit costs, employee activity costs and wage and salary information.

5. Develop and implement goals for meeting Strategic Planning objectives.

6. Develop policies and procedures as needed.

7. Complete salary and benefit surveys as needed.

8. Create and place all employment advertising, including in-house postings.

9. Complete and process all employee paperwork and maintain personnel files appropriately.

10. Plan, coordinate, and oversee various employee activities, including the annual picnic, Service Awards luncheon, Employee Appreciation Day, safety day and outside events, etc.

11. Coordinate the purchase of health and dental insurance, including the plan design and cost analysis.

12. Coordinate enrollment in and implementation of all benefit plans; trouble shoot employee problems.

13. Respond to any and all EEOC, etc charges in an appropriate and timely manner.

14. Represent The Cypress Club at hearings as needed.

15. Ensure accurate job descriptions are complete and updated for each position as needed.

16. Produce, distribute and maintain employee records and information; release employment verifications according to facility policy.

17. Ensure confidentiality of all employee records and information; release employment verifications according to facility policy.

18. Assist in facilitating communication between workers’ compensation physician and employees who have been injured.

19. Conduct training sessions and workshops for staff relating to Worker’s Compensation, employee safety, equal employment opportunity, employee benefits, personnel policies and procedures, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other matters as needed.

20. Serve as a resource for Department Managers, explaining and assisting in the interpretation of Human Resources policies and procedures and the implications of applicable laws and regulations.

21. Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local codes, laws, and regulations governing the facility.

22. Refer all grievances and concerns to the appropriate Department Director or Executive Director.

23. Coordinate new employee orientation for all new employees.

24. Complies with The Cypress Club’s Code of Conduct in all aspects of job including participation in training.

25. Instructs and documents training of staff in policy and procedures pertinent to their individual department.

26. Takes appropriate precautions to avoid job related injuries and complies with injury reporting guidelines.

27. Actively participates in safety programs and complies with The Cypress Club policies and procedures.

28. Embraces The Cypress Hospitality Promises daily.

29. Looks for ways to continuously improve safety for members, staff and visitors.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Attend all meetings/seminars as designated by the Executive Director.

2. Provide oral and written reports to the Executive Director or Administrator as required.

3. Meet with employees regarding various issues as needed.

4. Maintain written records of department expenditures and assure that financial variance and other reports are submitted accurately and in a timely fashion.

5. Process all check requests in a timely fashion to ensure appropriate payments.

6. Additional duties as required.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.

Licensure/Certification: PRH, SPHR, CEBS, or advanced practice certification preferred.

Additional Qualifications : A minimum of 4 years' experience managing all facets of Human Resources required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to relate well to people. Good listening skills required. Must have the ability to interact with local governmental agencies as needed such as PHRC, UC, and EEOC representatives. Must be multi-task oriented and be able to coordinate projects appropriately to ensure timely and accurate completion. Computer operation required; WordPerfect experience required; experience working with various HRIS programs preferred.
