Company: The Cutting Room Floor
Job Title: Director of Partnerships
Location: New York City (On-Site)
Salary: $90K - $100K Performance Bonus
About Us
The Cutting Room Floor began as a fashion & culture podcast and is evolving into a broader media company built on the belief that thoughtful conversation can meaningfully contribute to the industry it examines. Over the years, we have earned the trust of a global audience of designers, executives, journalists, students, and some of fashion's most engaged observers. Founded by a creator whose perspective remains central to the brand, the company is entering a new phase of growth as we expand our team and ambitions.
For most of our history, we have operated with a small team and that scale allowed us to remain selective about what we produced and the standards we set for ourselves. Following a significant growth milestone, we are now entering a new chapter. We’re investing in the future of the company and expanding our team in a meaningful way for the first time.
This is an exciting time to join a company at a genuine inflection point. We’re no longer an early-stage project, but we are also not a mature institution. Many of the systems and processes that will define the company are being shaped in real time.
As we expand, our focus remains on preserving the qualities that have defined The Cutting Room Floor from the beginning: cultural clarity, discerning taste, and a high standard for the work.
Job Overview:
We are hiring a Director of Partnerships to drive all revenue-generating relationships at The Cutting Room Floor. This is a core role at a pivotal moment in the company's evolution, and building a strong internal partnerships function is a priority for the business. This person will sit at the intersection of business development and brand strategy.
For the last couple years, The Cutting Room Floor has attracted consistent inbound interest from a wide range of brands across technology, fashion, luxury, beauty, and culture. We’ve decided to bring the Director of Partnerships function fully in-house to operate with greater speed, precision, and creative control over the kinds of partnerships we choose to build and execute.
We are looking for someone who is both commercially sharp and culturally fluent. They should understand how brands operate at a strategic level and how to curate them within contemporary culture. The ability to discern when, why and which deals make sense is just as important as the ability to structure, negotiate and close them. This person will not simply execute partnerships; they will define how The Cutting Room Floor shows up commercially in the world.
The ideal candidate is a creative dealmaker and an organized closer. This is someone who can take an open-ended opportunity and shape it into a clear proposal. Above all, we’re looking for someone who understands urgency around revenue generation at this stage of the company. The right person will be capable of moving with speed and sharp judgement, while generating meaningful revenue and strengthening the value and integrity of the brand.
