A leading academic medical center on Long Island is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to oversee a Neurosurgery service line within a high-acuity perioperative environment.
This leadership role is responsible for the clinical, operational, and administrative oversight of the neurosurgical operating room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for neurosurgical operating room operations
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance of perioperative personnel
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and NYS DOH standards
- Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and evidence-based practice
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s preferred
- Active New York State RN license
- Minimum 6 years of perioperative / operating room experience
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- ACLS certification
- Experience supporting neurosurgical procedures (cranial and/or spine)
