Our client, a transportation company is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for a part-time position.
This role calls for 10-20 hours per week for 6 months, with the potential to extend. Schedule can be flexible in terms of days and times of day, but work must be performed during working hours (9am - 5pm).
Attendance at our office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn is required at least once per week to process the mail. The remainder of the responsibilities can be performed in-office or remotely.
The pay rate is $25.00 per hour.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced administrative professional to fill a temporary, part-time role assisting the Legal team with claims, litigation, summonses, and mail related to its legacy rideshare and moped businesses.
The role will be supervised by the Company’s General Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Support claims activity for our legacy transportation businesses: administrative follow-up and coordination in relation to insurance claims for the transportation business.
- Communicate with insurance company claims handlers: directly communicate with claims handlers from insurance companies, providing them with the necessary information and documentation in order to process claims.
- Assist with litigation response: oversee the collection of internal documents in order to respond to litigation related to our transportation businesses; communicate with our outside counsel and respond to questions about internal documents or procedures.
- Process summonses, tickets, and violations: Handling and processing of summonses, tickets, and violations related to our legacy rideshare business.
- Oversee litigation hold workflows: Managing the process of litigation hold workflows, including tracking and notifications.
- Process physical legal mail: During a brief weekly on-site visit (2-3 hours), open and process our legal mail inbox.
Requirements
At least 3 years’ experience in an administrative role in an office or other professional environment
Experience in at least one of the following: insurance, claims, litigation or other legal work, transportation or fleet management, or similar industries.
Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive).
Strong written and verbal communication skills; confidence in speaking with attorneys and other professionals; open-minded and enjoys learning.
