Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the oversight and implementation of human resource functions for all employee groups (salaried, salaried non-exempt, and hourly). Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Employee Relations & Conflict Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor and consultant to management on all employee relations issues.
- Partner with supervisors and managers regarding employee relations issues.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and provide coaching and feedback to employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Conduct investigations and make recommendations regarding disciplinary actions and/or employee terminations.
- Manage all employee relations activities within client groups according to established guidelines and sound administrative practices.
- Organizational & Strategic Initiatives
- Drive strategic HR initiatives for the facility.
- Design and implement people solutions to address enterprise and functional strategies.
- Act as a change agent to further enhance organizational growth and development.
- Identify opportunities to modernize current HR processes within the facility and drive a new strategic HRBP model.
- Conduct research and develop/recommend solutions and process improvements on HR related projects, processes, and policies aligned to Client strategy, culture, and business practices.
- HR Generalist Functions
- Actively engage with both hourly employees and support staff throughout the facility, including the manufacturing floor.
- Complete daily walk-throughs to stay informed on business challenges/opportunities.
- Drive high participation in employee engagement surveys and annual enrollment sessions, and facilitate focus groups with the plant management team.
- Partner with the recruitment team to facilitate/coordinate hourly and salaried interviews, conduct onboarding, and new hire orientation.
- Provide a high level of customer service and HR visibility to all client groups, especially hourly teams.
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements as needed, including case management of work-related injuries.
- Actively participate and manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
- Partner with Legal on the creation of offer letters, separation agreements, and other documents.
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience (5-7 years of experience is preferred).
- Advanced communication skills that can be utilized in day-to-day interactions with all levels of the workforce.
- Experience managing conflict, project management & completion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Possess demonstrated problem-solving abilities along with strong time management & prioritization skills.
- Minimum travel of 25%.
- Advanced experience in HR law, compliance, and regulations.
- Familiarity with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong customer-service orientation, organization, flexibility, attention to detail, and proactive attitude.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and customers.
- Ability to recognize and handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
- Intermediate experience with HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
