About the Role
We are looking for a detail-driven Logistics Coordinator to join our team in an offsite role embedded at a customer facility in Aurora, IL. You will serve as The Custom Companies' on-location representative, acting as the primary day-to-day logistics contact for our customer while collaborating closely with our internal teams across procurement, sales, and warehouse. This is a strong opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants visibility into both the operational and relationship side of logistics.
Responsibilities
- Logistics Management
- Plan, execute, and oversee daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution
- Coordinate with carriers and suppliers to schedule and track shipments
- Manage routing and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery performance
- Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies
- Resolve issues related to shipping documentation, including customs where applicable
- Supplier and Carrier Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts and rates to optimize cost and service levels
- Resolve delays or issues with suppliers and carriers promptly and professionally
- Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Apply best practices to streamline daily operations
- Customer Service
- Ensure timely, accurate deliveries and provide outstanding customer support
- Respond to customer inquiries and proactively communicate shipment updates
- Serve as the on-site logistics liaison at the customer facility
- Problem Resolution
- Address logistics challenges such as delays, damages, and discrepancies proactively
- Partner with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar role
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software
- Ability to analyze data and generate clear, actionable reports
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills
- Relevant certifications such as APICS or CLTD
- Experience with NetSuite
Pay range and compensation package
This position is offsite, embedded full-time at a customer facility in Aurora, IL. The role involves a mix of desk-based work and time on an active manufacturing floor. PPE including closed-toed shoes is required in plant areas. Dress is generally casual with elevated attire expected during client or vendor visits.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
