About the Role

We are looking for a detail-driven Logistics Coordinator to join our team in an offsite role embedded at a customer facility in Aurora, IL. You will serve as The Custom Companies' on-location representative, acting as the primary day-to-day logistics contact for our customer while collaborating closely with our internal teams across procurement, sales, and warehouse. This is a strong opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants visibility into both the operational and relationship side of logistics.

Responsibilities

• Logistics Management
• Plan, execute, and oversee daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution
• Coordinate with carriers and suppliers to schedule and track shipments
• Manage routing and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery performance

• Documentation and Compliance
• Prepare and maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies
• Resolve issues related to shipping documentation, including customs where applicable

• Supplier and Carrier Coordination
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and stakeholders
• Negotiate contracts and rates to optimize cost and service levels
• Resolve delays or issues with suppliers and carriers promptly and professionally

• Process Improvement
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
• Apply best practices to streamline daily operations

• Customer Service
• Ensure timely, accurate deliveries and provide outstanding customer support
• Respond to customer inquiries and proactively communicate shipment updates
• Serve as the on-site logistics liaison at the customer facility

• Problem Resolution
• Address logistics challenges such as delays, damages, and discrepancies proactively
• Partner with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar role
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software
• Ability to analyze data and generate clear, actionable reports
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills

• Relevant certifications such as APICS or CLTD
• Experience with NetSuite

Pay range and compensation package

This position is offsite, embedded full-time at a customer facility in Aurora, IL. The role involves a mix of desk-based work and time on an active manufacturing floor. PPE including closed-toed shoes is required in plant areas. Dress is generally casual with elevated attire expected during client or vendor visits.
