Perform necessary service, repairs and welding on company equipment and job work orders.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine service on pneumatic and hydraulic operated equipment.
2. Perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions.
3. Perform modifications and repairs to field and shop equipment.
4. Coordinate with Blasting to ensure flow of equipment to be serviced.
5. Provide support to the machinist for repairs and maintenance on rolling stock and pre-stressing equipment.
6. Assist in pulling and inspecting parts for loading lists.
7. Observe and maintain all safety procedures.
8. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
9. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
10. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
11. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
12. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
13. Maintain and repair equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
14. Perform other duties as assigned including mechanics and machining and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors or for fieldwork.
15.  Report to work as scheduled by the employer and without excessive absenteeism.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

 HS Diploma or equivalent.

 Mechanical experience.

 1-2 years welding experience.

Other Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to drive a forklift or learn.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.).
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
• Attention to detail.
• Proficient in English.
• Willingness to travel for jobsite repairs and fabrication.

Working Conditions:

 Primarily works under a shed outside exposed to the elements.

 Exposed to hazardous materials.

 Exposed to frequent loud noises.

 Exposed to dangerous machinery.

 Generally works four 9-hour days and one 4-hour day, although overtime may occur.
