Laboratory Operations Support

This position serves a local pharmaceutical company in downtown Indianapolis, and it is as secure as most direct-hire positions. It is a new position open due to CREW's reputation!

It is NOT a short-term or multi-year contract position! As with almost all CREW’s positions, it is an executive-approved need for long-term, on-going support. This position supports multiple labs in a design and assembly department by overseeing daily laboratory operations, equipment readiness, compliance activities, and cross-lab coordination. This role is the first line of support for device builds in the Innovation Technology Center (ITC), which includes keeping builds moving, resolving routine issues on the equipment, and then escalating to the process engineers.

Additionally, this role is responsible for preventive maintenance and calibration tracking, work order administration, facilities and vendor coordination, equipment installation support, laboratory moves and setup, safety audits, consumable replenishment, and first-level troubleshooting.

The position requires a strong safety mindset, ownership of laboratory systems and processes, effective communication across multiple labs, and the ability to keep laboratory spaces organized, compliant, and prepared to support ongoing project needs.

Must-have Requirements:

• General repair and maintenance skills to be the “first line of defense” in troubleshooting equipment issues to get them appropriately functioning as soon as possible after a malfunction.
• 3 years of general laboratory experience
• Project management, sense of ownership, and communication ability within multiple labs
• Proficient in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage manufacturing equipment, facility maintenance, and spare parts inventory
• Safety mindset

Additional Preferences:

• Support with Electronic Lab Notebook
• Ability to operate software programs and various lab equipment
• Chemistry and/or other scientific field background
• Experience with safety audits and preparation

Position Tasks:

• Keep builds moving by resolving routine issues on the equipment and escalating to the process engineers when necessary.
• Equipment PM tracking and oversight; setup PMs for new equipment and improve PM schedule for existing equipment.
• Equipment calibration and oversight; most calibrations will be completed by outside vendors.
• CMMS administration and updates

• LCMS and UPLC calibration
