Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in school settings and a strong background working with student within the spectrum. This role involves providing assistance with speech therapy services to children, focusing on early intervention strategies to support their communication development. The successful applicant will work closely in assisting the SPL with patients, families, and educational staff to assess and address speech and language needs.

Duties

• Assist with conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech and language abilities.
• Assist with developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and goals.
• Assist with implementation of evidence-based speech therapy interventions tailored to the needs of the student.
• Assist with collaboration with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to support care and progress.
• Assist in providing education and resources to families regarding speech development and intervention strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student's progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with medical standards.
• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in speech therapy, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  
  

Experience & Qualification

• California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) License
• Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders, Education, Psychology
• Two year experience working with those on the autism spectrum and/or working with students who are moderate to severely affected by a developmental disability in a professional setting.
• One Year working with those are non-verbal using AAC (voice output, high/low tech systems.
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and early intervention practices is required.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and patient assessment methods is necessary for success in this role.
