Baker and Cake Decorator

Job Summary

We are seeking passionate and skilled individuals both in Baking and Cake Decorating to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing baked goods and cakes with our kids, youth, and adults for our fun enrichment experiences. Experiences run most afternoons and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods such as cookies, and cakes following established recipes and quality standards
• Decorate cakes with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements
• Operate kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, pastry bags, and decorating tools safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
• Assist in food preparation tasks such as dough mixing, portioning, and ingredient measurement using basic math skills
• Support high-volume production needs during busy periods while maintaining consistency in product quality

Requirements

• Proven experience in baking and cake decorating within a commercial kitchen or bakery environment
• Strong skills in food handling, pastry preparation, dough making, and cake decorating techniques
• Knowledge of operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining creativity in cake design
• Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and shaping of baked goods
• Familiarity with food safety management practices and maintaining a clean workspace at all times
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously during high-volume production
• Customer service orientation with a positive attitude toward assisting clients or team members when needed

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
