Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Prep Cook, you will assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes while adhering to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as per recipe specifications.
• Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers.
• Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
• Participate in inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary requirements when necessary.

Experience

• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the culinary industry is highly desirable.
• Experience working in a dietary aide role or similar position is a plus.
• A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen setting.
