Primary Objective: The Outreach Worker supports the agency’s mission of preventing youth sex trafficking by managing the administrative, scheduling, organizational, and data-tracking functions of The Covering House outreach and prevention programs. This position ensures that presentations, partnerships, and outreach activities run smoothly by managing the logistical and operational tasks that allow the Community Outreach Coordinator to focus on high-level relationship-building, program development, and public presentation. The Assistant strengthens program fidelity, partner coordination, and ensures timely, accurate data entry and documentation.
Primary Responsibilities: The Community Outreach Worker is responsible for;
- Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and confirming educational presentations, training, and community events.
- Support communication and follow-up with schools, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies serving our target population to identify needs and enhance access to services.
- Help prepare materials, resources, and supplies needed for presentations and events.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, program participation, and partner contacts.
- Maintain updated lists of partners, MOUs, and ongoing outreach efforts.
- Track follow-up needs from meetings, emails, and introductions.
- Provide logistical support for events (set-up, registration, distributing materials, etc.).
- Review and schedule requested office hours.
- Track office hour referral data and follow-up items.
- Attend outreach and prevention operations including resource fairs, networking events, and crisis support calls as assigned.
- Support data entry and reporting for grant requirements and program evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Outreach Coordinator and agency mission.
- Serve as a point of contact for schools, partners, and referral agencies.
- Assist with scheduling requests and confirm outreach appointments.
- Make presentation reminder calls, send thank you emails, and assist with follow-up items.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participants, referrals, and partner agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience community outreach, education, or youth programs preferred.
- Comfortable engaging with diverse community members and youth and knowledge of risk factors for exploitation and trafficking.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and leadership in community outreach efforts.
- Commitment to the mission of preventing youth exploitation and promoting healthy development.
Additional Requirements:
- A minimum of 21 years of age, with a demonstrated capacity to listen to adolescents with understanding, help them find constructive solutions to problems, and collaborate with peers for service delivery.
- JIREH certified (crisis intervention and physical intervention).
- Moderate skills with Google and Microsoft Office Suite.
- May not have a substantiated report of child abuse or neglect.
- Must possess a valid Class E driver's license. This employee must be able to transport clients in accordance with licensing standards.
- Must adhere to a comprehensive background check.
- Must fill out a medical release form and confidentiality form.

2. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time during transport, recreational activities, and outings. Must maintain an eight-to-one child-to-staff ratio at the home at all times, according to State regulations. May be required to assist at the Residential Facility as needed. Combination of office-based and community-based work. Some evening or weekend availability may be required for events. Reliable transportation to outreach sites.
