Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Owner/Operator Driver role based in Baltimore, MD and Charlotte, NC. The owner/operator is responsible for using their own well-maintained vehicle (cars, minivans, cargo vans, SUVs) to complete scheduled pickups and deliveries, following assigned routes and time windows. Daily activities include loading and unloading items, verifying delivery information, collecting signatures or proof of delivery, and maintaining accurate logs or electronic records. The role involves communicating with dispatch and customers, following all traffic and safety regulations, and promptly reporting any delays, incidents, or vehicle issues. Owner/operators are also expected to manage routine vehicle care, fuel, and basic maintenance to ensure reliable service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional driver or courier, with a strong record of on-time performance and safe driving.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and a reliable, insured vehicle suitable for deliveries.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and dispatch.
- Ability to use smartphones or tablets for navigation, routing apps, and electronic proof-of-delivery systems.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage routes, paperwork, and schedules independently.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move packages as needed, while following safe lifting practices.
- Willingness to comply with all company policies, safety requirements, and local, state, and federal driving regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior delivery or logistics experience is highly beneficial.
