Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Courtroom Order: Uphold strict courtroom decorum by managing all activities within the courtroom to ensure proceedings run without disruption.
- Supervise Tipstaff Employees: Lead, train, and coordinate a team of Tipstaff personnel, overseeing their daily assignments and performance to maintain high standards of professionalism and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with Court Officials: Collaborate closely with judges, clerks, attorneys, and security staff to facilitate seamless court operations, respond to emerging needs, and address any issues promptly.
- Ensure Efficient Courtroom Operations: Manage logistical elements such as scheduling, access control, and timely movement of case materials to optimize courtroom workflow and minimize delays.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks in a dynamic courtroom environment.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Clear, professional interaction with diverse stakeholders, including court personnel, attorneys, and the public.
- Leadership Abilities: Experience in supervising staff and fostering teamwork to achieve operational goals.
- Attention to Detail: Vigilance in monitoring courtroom activities and enforcing procedural compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Business, Paralegal or related field is preferred, OR a combination High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
- Licenses and certifications are not required.
- Knowledge of legal environment, principles and terminology/procedures.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office products required; participation in training provided by the employer is expected.
- Knowledge of contemporary office practices and procedures.
- Criminal background checks and clearances, including but not limited to fingerprinting, as directed.
