The County of Adams is seeking a qualified Chief Deputy Coroner to investigate sudden, unexplained, or violent deaths within the county. This is a full-time position with standard office hours Monday through Friday, plus additional hours for call-outs as required. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
1. High School graduate.
2. Prior experience in a Coroner’s department, in the funeral industry, medical vocation, fireman, paramedic or police officer strongly preferred.
3. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
4. Residence location must allow reasonable timely response to calls in Adams County, PA.
LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S):
1. Valid driver’s license
2. Must successfully complete the PA State Coroner’s Certification Course within 1 year of hire.
3. Must successfully complete the National Coroner’s Certification Course within 5 years of hire.
