What are the responsibilities and job description for the AFTER HOURS CASEWORKER position at The County of Adams?
The After-Hours Caseworker is an experienced specialized caseworker who possesses adept skills in mediating conflict within families and exhibits a positive and professional image that promotes solution thinking. The Caseworker functions as a lead worker for after-hours weekend coverage directed at protecting the welfare of children and preserving the family unit whenever possible. This position receives and processes all reports and referrals coming into the agency during weekend after-hours including working with police and medical staff to conduct initial investigations, documenting home environment, safety concerns, and other observations. This position will be required to attend Court and testify at hearings regarding juvenile and criminal cases as requested.
MERIT HIRE
Hours of Work:
- Hours performed from home begin at 3:00pm Friday thru to 7:00am Monday. Emergency Services for 10:00pm till 7:00am when hours become on call again.
- 7:00am to 8:00am may default back to the after-hours worker on Monday's if no one is available and coverage is needed.
- This position would provide coverage during emergency office closures.
Minimum Qualifications for Position:
- Minimum 6 months experience as a county caseworker required or
- Experience as a county caseworker intern through completion of the CWEB program or
- One year experience in a professional social casework in a public or private social services agency
- Caseworker 2 designation, preferred.

Compensation: $50,227.06 minimum to start, experience may be considered.
