The Country Club of Orlando, a private Country Club established in 1911, is currently seeking applicants for Camp Counselors.

The Country Club of Orlando is one of the largest and oldest Country Clubs in the state of Florida. The physical Club encompasses 166 1/3 acres and includes twelve tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, a a zero-entry swimming pool, a fitness center, snack bars, and a main clubhouse with unique dining facilities, banquet venues, and meeting rooms. Our family-oriented Club strives to provide the highest level of service and professionalism.

Job Summary and Position Objective: To provide fun, safe activities for the children participating in Children’s Camps. Must be able to interact appropriately and professionally with children, as well as other Club Staff.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide Exceptional service while maintaining a clean and safe environment for members, guests and staff.

2. Respond promptly to a member or guest request, remembering that they are not an interruption of your work; they are the purpose of it.

3. Review the work schedule often, know your schedule.

4. Report to work with your uniform cleaned, pressed, and well groomed.

5. Assist children and professionals with program activities including Golf, Tennis and Wellness instruction.

6. Facilitate arts and crafts projects that include explaining, helping and cleaning up once complete.

7. Supervise children to ensure constant safety and program quality.

8. Assist fellow employees.

9. Maintain proper records and documentation, including checking campers in and out.

10. Assist children in restrooms if needed.

11. Facilitate children’s mealtimes to ensure safety.

12. Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Required Competencies/Skills:

Enjoy working with children

Ability to multitask in sometimes stressful situations

Adept at conflict resolution

Required Experience:

Previous experience in similar customer service-oriented children’s programs that include but is not limited to: children’s camps, child care, teacher or child instructors.

Measures of Performance:

Will be reviewed at the discretion of the Junior Activities Director.

Work Environment:

Must be able to tolerate Florida summers which often consist of heat and rain.

Physical Requirements:

Tasks involve intermittent performance of physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, running and swimming. These activities may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds.

Expected Hours of Work:

Up to 40 hours per week

Education/Training Requirements:

First Aid and CPR Certified

Preferred Education and Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with relative prior experience

Children’s Camp and Child Care experience a plus
