Job Summary

The Bistro Host/Hostess provides a warm and professional welcome to members and their guests, creating a positive first impression of the dining experience. This position manages reservations, maintains an organized waitlist, and coordinates seating to ensure efficient service and smooth table flow. The Host/Hostess works closely with the Bistro Manager and service team to deliver attentive, personalized hospitality in keeping with the club’s high standards and member-focused environment.

• Warmly greet members and guests upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional first impression of the Bistro.


• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the club’s preferred system or manual tracking as needed.


• Coordinate seating arrangements to balance server sections and maintain smooth service flow.


• Communicate member preferences and special requests to servers and management.


• Answer phones, take dining reservations, and provide accurate information about hours, menus, and events.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entryway, and menus.


• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned by the Bistro Manager.


• Work cooperatively with the service team to ensure a high level of member satisfaction.


• Uphold club policies and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• No supervisory duties are included in this position.

Work Environment

• Professional, member-focused dining atmosphere within the club’s Bistro.


• Frequent interaction with members, guests, and team members in a fast-paced setting.


• Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required based on dining operations and events.


• Professional appearance, courteous attitude, and adherence to club standards are expected at all times.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.


• Frequent reaching, bending, and light lifting (up to 15 lbs).


• Occasional carrying of menus, trays, or small items as needed.


• Ability to move quickly and safely in a busy dining environment.


• Clear speech, active listening, and visual focus required for effective communication with members and staff.


• Must be able to maintain a neat, professional appearance consistent with club standards.

Education and Experience (Required and Preferred)

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Previous experience in a hospitality, restaurant, or private club setting preferred.


• Familiarity with reservation or point-of-sale systems is helpful but not required.


• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.


• Training in hospitality or food and beverage service is a plus.
