Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards diligently during all stages of food handling and preparation
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly, ensuring timely and accurate presentation of dishes
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhere strictly to recipe guidelines, portion control, and presentation standards for all menu items
Experience
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Demonstrated food preparation skills within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment and knife skills, including slicing techniques
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff
- Background in culinary arts or related training is a plus but not mandatory
