As an Inventory Assistant, you will support the Inventory Specialist in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring efficient product tracking within the dispensary. This role involves assisting with receiving and verifying deliveries, organizing stock, and supporting daily inventory counts while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
You will work with the METRC tracking system to help manage product intake, transfers, and waste, while also assisting with documentation and data entry. In addition, you may provide support to budtenders on the sales floor when needed, ensuring a smooth and informed customer experience.
This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and management.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Support
- Assist with routine inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate stock levels
- Help organize products on the sales floor and in storage areas
- Monitor inventory discrepancies and report issues to the Inventory Specialist or management
Receiving & Vendor Support
- Assist in receiving deliveries and verifying shipment contents against invoices
- Support proper documentation and filing of invoices and manifests
- Help with product transfers, returns, and waste tracking in compliance with METRC
Product Tracking & Compliance
- Assist with checking in new products and updating product information in the POS system
- Help print and apply barcode labels and ensure METRC UID tags are properly assigned
- Maintain organized and accurate compliance records (COAs, manifests, invoices)
Warehouse Organization
- Support proper stock placement and storage organization
- Ensure inventory areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with regulations
- Assist in maintaining secure handling of all products
POS & Data Entry
- Enter and update product details in the POS system
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory data and product naming conventions
- Support tracking of inventory levels and reporting discrepancies
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Inventory Specialist, managers, and team members
- Assist in maintaining smooth day-to-day inventory operations
- Provide occasional support to sales floor staff as needed
Quality Control
- Help inspect incoming products for accuracy, proper labeling, and tamper seals
- Report damaged or incorrect items and assist with resolution processes
Policy & Compliance
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times
- Assist in maintaining compliance with state regulations and internal standards
Position Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Pass a DOJ (Department of Justice) fingerprint live-scan background check.
- Receiving and maintaining (renewed yearly) a valid Cannabis Card from the city.
- Flexible and open work schedule as you may be required to work holidays, nights and weekends if needed. Shifts and hours assigned are subject to change at the discretion of the company and manager approval.
- Occasionally lift and stock heavy cases/objects up to 25-50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing and assisting customers.
- Ability to climb, crouch, reach, bend and crawl as it pertains to the job duties above.
