Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School English Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for literature, writing, and critical thinking. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an educator to teach all types of learners. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive English curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse student needs, incorporating elements of AP style, creative writing, and literacy education.
- Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate instructional design principles, learning technology tools, and research-based teaching methods to enhance student learning experiences.
- Deliver dynamic classroom instruction that fosters critical thinking, literary analysis, and effective writing skills across various genres including journalism, fiction, and academic writing.
- Utilize the schools management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment conducive to active participation and respectful discourse.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups to improve literacy skills, writing proficiency, and overall academic performance; provide tutoring as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress; communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and areas for improvement.
- Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and community outreach efforts to promote a vibrant educational culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field;
- Valid teaching certification/license for high school education preferred, but not required
- Proven classroom experience working with high school students across diverse backgrounds; private school experience is advantageous. .
- Proficiency in learning technology tools such as educational software platforms, digital assessment tools, and library services for research support.
- Demonstrated ability in instructional design, lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience mentoring students academically or personally; ability to foster a supportive learning environment through effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple classes simultaneously while maintaining detailed records of student progress.
