We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certified Physical Education Teacher who is passionate about promoting lifelong fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits in students. In addition to delivering high-quality PE instruction, this role includes responsibilities related to gym management, athletic coaching, equipment maintenance, and supporting the overall physical activity program of the school.
Essential Duties
Instruction
· Homeroom responsibilities
· Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate physical education lessons aligned with state standards, fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students
· Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback on physical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship
· Promote health, wellness, and lifelong fitness habits
· Assist in planning school-wide events such as field days, fitness challenges, and wellness initiatives
· Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate physical activity across the curriculum when appropriate
· Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
· Monitor and enforce safety procedures during all physical activities
Coaching
· Coach after-school intramural sports teams
· Organize and lead practices, games, and team events
· Support student-athletes in skill development, teamwork, and character building
Facility & Equipment Management
· Oversee daily operations and upkeep of the gymnasium and related spaces
· Ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well-organized
· Maintain inventory of all PE and athletic equipment, including inspecting, cleaning, and repair of equipment as needed
· Coordinate ordering and replacement of equipment with Principal
Requirements
- Valid state certification in Physical Education (K–12 or applicable grade levels)
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3 years of teaching/coaching experience; Special education background
- Background check required
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License with clean driving background
- Knowledge of age-appropriate physical education practices and safety standards

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
