Job Description
The successful candidate will join an existing workforce currently working in the Facilities Team at The Corners of Brookfield. Regular working hours will be 40 per week with the opportunity for overtime. Flexibility in shift patterns will be necessary to meet the seasonal demands of the center operations and events.
This is an active, outdoors role. A typical breakdown of hours worked is 15% sitting, 45% walking, and 40% standing. The role demands the following physical tasks; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in all weather conditions.
Specific functions of the role include, but are not limited to:
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience gained in a facility maintenance technician role, and the ability to safely perform practical maintenance and repair tasks on commercial property and public common areas. Candidates should show willingness to upgrade their skillset to meet changing job conditions. Practical training and support for this will be available to an eager employee.
Specific competencies should include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
You will be asked to give permission for a Background Check to be performed

Specific functions of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in the trash and recycling services to include operating a dump bed truck to collect and move 2 yard containers.
- Minor maintenance of buildings and common areas as needed to ensure public safety and an effective working environment for tenants and guests.
- Providing labor support to the Events Manager for the set-up, take down of event equipment, such as patio furniture, shelters, safety barriers, and temporary signage.
- Basic maintenance of assigned equipment: truck, ATV’s/Ranger, lawn maintenance equipment to ensure they remain in operating condition.Participation in team meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the benefit of the center and to better perform the role.
- Responding to work requests in MaintainX Work Order software and performing a wide variety of facility maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
- Responding to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed to meet specific needs of the center

- Ability to operate equipment typically used in facility maintenance such as power and hand tools, operating a dump bed truck and snow/ice clearing equipment including an ATV with plow
- Awareness of and adherence to safety practices
- Ability to perform basic math, read and understand instruction manuals, write documents relative to the job, such as maintenance reports, follow and implement multi-step written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with email, online time-keeping
