Position Summary
We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and hardworking Package Goods Clerk to join our small business team. This position is responsible for receiving and checking in deliveries, keeping our cooler and store well-stocked and organized, operating the cash register, and providing friendly service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and check in incoming orders and deliveries
- Verify products, quantities, and condition of merchandise
- Stock and organize the cooler, shelves, and displays
- Monitor inventory and notify management when products need to be reordered
- Keep the store clean, neat, and well organized
- Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit, and other payments
- Assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer customer questions and provide product information when needed
- Rotate and organize products as necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Follow company policies and all applicable health and safety requirements
- Perform other general store duties as needed
Qualifications
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Friendly and comfortable working with customers
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Able to lift and move boxes and cases of merchandise
- Able to stand and remain active for extended periods
- Previous retail, cashier, stocking, or customer-service experience is a plus, but not required
