About the Company
The Cooper Group LLC is expanding and looking for experienced insurance professionals, independent producers, and people with experience in similar commission-based industries. This is a fully remote, 1099 independent contractor opportunity for someone who wants more control, stronger compensation potential, flexible scheduling, and the ability to build their business their way with guidance and support. An active Life and Health license is preferred, but not required for an initial conversation. Candidates must be properly licensed before producing.
About the Role
You will work with clients by phone or virtually to identify coverage needs, present suitable insurance solutions, submit applications, and manage your own pipeline. Product areas include life insurance, mortgage protection, Medicare, annuities, final expense, and related protection products. This role is a strong fit for someone with experience in any line of insurance or a similar independent sales structure, including life, health, Medicare, P&C, benefits, financial services, real estate, mortgage, solar, or other client-facing commission-based industries.
Responsibilities
- Conduct phone-based or virtual client consultations
- Present appropriate coverage options based on client needs
- Run quotes and assist clients through the application process
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and clients
- Manage your own schedule, pipeline, and production activity
- Submit business according to carrier and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in training, mentorship, and case support
Qualifications
- Insurance industry experience preferred
- Experience in a commission-based or client-facing sales role
- Life and Health license preferred, or willingness to obtain required licensing
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Professional, coachable, and self-directed
- Comfortable with a 1099 commission-based structure
- Motivated to build consistent production
Pay range and compensation package
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Compensation is commission-based and paid directly by the carriers. Agents have access to higher than industry standard starting comp, strong bonus opportunities, and residual or renewal income depending on the product and carrier. Compensation details, carrier access, lead options, and support structure are discussed during the interview process.
