What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef Instructor position at THE COOK'S STUDIO?
Chef Instructors for busy Recreational Cooking School concept, multiple locations-Huntington, Patchogue, Amityville & Mineola
- 5 years minimum hospitality industry experience required
- Prior in person teaching experience a plus, but not required-we will train
- Formal training from an accredited culinary school required
- Knowledge of multiple cuisines required
- Outgoing and entertaining personality absolutely required
- Clean, professional appearance and demeanor required
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to multitask required
- Team player with leadership skills to guide support staff required
- Must be able to deliver outstanding customer service while managing classroom logistics and guest expectations
- Must be able to stand, walk and work for a 6-8 hour shift
- Must be able to lift 25lbs
- NOT a creative position-you must be able to consistently follow strict SOPs including recipes, lesson plans, script and timing
- Even experienced teachers must follow our methods, procedures and style of instruction
- ServSafe or local sanitation certificate required
- All classes are in person, for grown ups, no zoom or kid classes
- Above average compensation rate
- Must have multiple references, which will be contacted

- Must live on Long Island
- Must have transportation-shift availability across locations
- Must have weekend and evening availability, no exceptions
- Four step practical interview process including audition, all paid minimum wage
- Two-four probationary/training shifts paid at $25.00 per hour training rate, then $40-50.00 per hour full Chef Instructor rate
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
