Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Take customer orders accurately using a point of sale system, utilize a handheld ordering device, and perform retail sales transactions with precision.
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service by greeting guests, answering questions about menu items, and making personalized recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, tables, and seating areas, following food safety standards.
- Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, ensuring all food safety guidelines are followed.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high service standards.
- Support the team with beverage service, drink presentation, and ensuring all orders are accurate before delivery to customers.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities.
- Previous experience in food service or café environments is preferred; barista experience is highly valued. The best candidate has a willingness to learn and develop.
- A welcoming attitude with a heart for serving others with intentional kindness.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square POS or GoTab POS for processing transactions efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in beverage preparation, especially coffee-making or drink service, is a plus.
