The Opportunity
G.M. Roth Design Remodeling is seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to serve as a key field leader on high-end residential remodeling and design-build projects. This role is ideal for a polished, hands-on carpenter who can lead jobsite execution, communicate professionally with homeowners, coordinate with subcontractors, and maintain premium craftsmanship from start to finish.
You will represent G.M. Roth in occupied homes, lead daily field activity, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the company’s quality standards. You will have the autonomy to manage residential jobsites with the support of an established production team, strong internal systems, and a company known for award-winning remodeling work.

How You Will Make An Impact
- Lead daily field operations for residential remodeling projects, including additions, bathrooms, basements, decks, windows/doors, framing, and finish carpentry.
- Organize and direct field employees, subcontractors, and material suppliers to keep projects moving on schedule.
- Execute high-quality rough and finish carpentry work with minimal oversight.
- Coordinate with production leadership, building inspectors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite in occupied homes.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners throughout the project.
- Resolve real-time technical, logistical, and jobsite issues while protecting project timelines and budget goals.
- Support budget performance through efficient field execution, change-order awareness, and project completion discipline.
- Represent company values by doing things the right way and delivering an outstanding client experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of residential remodeling or construction experience.
- Proven ability to lead field crews and coordinate subcontractors.
- Strong hands-on carpentry skills, especially framing, finish carpentry, doors/windows, decks, trim, and detailed residential work.
- Experience working in occupied homes with homeowners present.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-facing presence.
- Ability to read plans, follow specifications, use basic math, and maintain field documentation.
- Ability to work safely on ladders, at heights, in crawl spaces, and in tight areas.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 65 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License / MA CSL.
- OSHA certification or demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety.
- Experience with high-end residential remodeling or design-build projects.
- Experience mentoring apprentices, carpenters, or field team members.
- Advanced knowledge of kitchens, bathrooms, additions, decks, and full-home improvement systems.
- Experience coordinating with homeowners, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal production teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to keep projects organized in the field.
- $33 to $40 per hour, based on experience.
