How You Will Make An Impact
- Execute high-end finish carpentry and structural modifications within a massive complex of historic commercial buildings.
- Analyze aging structural elements to determine the most effective methods for restoration and modern integration.
- Construct and install custom wood frameworks, partitions, and cabinetry designed to match existing historic aesthetics.
- Coordinate with the maintenance and masonry teams to ensure seamless transitions between old and new construction materials.
- Interpret detailed architectural sketches and blueprints to replicate intricate trim work and specialized moldings.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace within active restoration zones to prevent project delays and ensure crew safety.
- Document material usage and project milestones to ensure all restoration phases remain within budget and on schedule.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in commercial carpentry or historic restoration.
- Proven expertise in operating a wide range of woodworking machinery and specialized hand tools.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and shop drawings with minimal oversight.
- Experience working in large-scale commercial or industrial environments with aging infrastructure.
- Physical stamina to navigate large job sites and handle heavy materials throughout the workday.
- Completion of a formal carpentry apprenticeship or specialized certification in historic preservation.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring junior carpenters or leading small crews on complex build-outs.
- Advanced knowledge of traditional joinery techniques and modern adhesive technologies.
