Key Responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic cable splicing and testing in various environments.
- Accurately read and interpret splice documentation and plans.
- Use fusion splicing machines and OTDR testing tools to ensure fiber integrity.
- Prepare cables and enclosures, and conduct troubleshooting when necessary.
- Maintain detailed project logs and documentation for each job.
- Work efficiently in both individual and team settings, ensuring quality control on all tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Travel to job sites as required, often with overnight stays and weekend availability.
- 5 years of experience in fiber splicing or related utility construction preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a motivated, self-starting attitude.
- Reliable and punctual with a solid work ethic.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly on the job.
- Fiber optic certification is a strong plus.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding environments.
- Valid driver's license required; personal transportation may be necessary for certain projects.
