Join our team as a temporary Recovery Specialist with strong potential for permanent placement. The goal is to transition into a permanent full-time Union position after completing 3 months of temporary employment. We’re seeking a motivated individual who is dependable, adaptable, and interested in building a long-term career with us.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Engage in relationship building with individuals, family members, loved ones to establish rapport, as evidenced by empathetic and active listening and communicating in a non-judgmental way.
· Provide recovery education to individuals, family members and loved ones for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery.
· Participate in daily shift debriefs, as well as weekly individual supervision, and monthly team supervision.
· Meet with individuals and appropriately engage them to identify their interests, goals and aspirations; provides support to individuals toward achieving their goals.
· Provide individuals with mentoring, problem solving and encouragement.
· Work in conjunction with the team; attend and participate in case consolations, staff meetings, in-service trainings and seminars as required.
· Administrative duties to include recovery plan creation, data tracking, documentation, and regular digital communication via email, etc.
· High school diploma or GED, and Certified Recovery Specialist Certification are required which must be maintained, and a past history of substance use experience.
· A total of 12 months full or part time, paid or volunteer work experience within the last 3 years required; one year of college, or other educational experience within the last three years, can be substituted for the work experience.
· Must be able to travel 60% of the time. Good knowledge of Camden’s public transit system and a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is a plus.
· Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and over-all computer skills).
· Completion of the Investigation Application for the Camden County Department of Corrections is required.
