Position Summary:
The Warehouse Coordinator has primary responsibility for performing receipt, storage, inventory tracking and shipping activities for Compost Crew’s e-commerce and recycling businesses. Compost Crew’s ecommerce business sells compostable products and materials to individual, business and government customers nationwide. Compost Crew’s recycling business collects unwanted food scraps in the DMV region and converts the food scraps into compost. The Warehouse Coordinator plays a critical role in enabling Compost Crew to meet revenue, profit, customer service and safety goals. The Warehouse Coordinator complies with procedures and escalates exceptions/problems on a timely basis.The position requires regular, often-daily travel throughout the DMV region.Essential Responsibilities :
Performs compostable product warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, inventory tracking and shipping of products/materials
Performs recycling warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, inventory tracking and movement of products/materials
Uses shipping applications to identify optimal order quantities
Fulfills compostable product orders to meet customer service standards, including time and communication requirements
Administers the return process for damaged, defective, or unsold products, complying with documentation and restocking procedures
Maintains efficient professional communication with customers, vendors and shippers
Maintains and monitors systems that tracks/report on key performance metrics related to warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment
Escalates system information trends and anomalies to management on timely basis
Performs and coordinates loading/unloading of deliveries
Ensures that products are labeled and stored per procedures and standards
Coordinates inventory stock levels across up to five warehouse locations, conducting regular audits and maintaining accurate records
Implements inventory control systems
Follows procedures and standards for stock rotation
Applies procedures and methods for effective and efficient warehouse organization, workflow and space utilization
Identifies and escalates to management factors or conditions that may cause waste, product shortages or overstocking
Assists in troubleshooting and resolving operational challenges related to stock levels or product availability
Complies with safety standards in warehouse operations, driving and transport, including use of equipment
Recommends to management improvements in procedures, systems, safety and methods
Collaborates with external consultants and Compost Crew team members
Operates forklift and drives company vehicle
Time breakdown: 60% manual tasks, 30% computer systems tasks and 10% meetings/travel
Performs other duties as assigned
Key Requirements :
High School diploma, GED or equivalent
At least one year related experience, such as warehouse, shipping, logistics or delivery experience
Intermediate computer-related skills, including understanding how to use both generic and specific technology applications, ability to navigate across diverse pages and applications, and ability to use computer-based tools to access and apply information. Understanding and application of key concepts such as operating systems, databases and file management is required. Ability to use diverse hardware and troubleshoot routine operational problems is required.
Intermediate skills in MS Office or Google Workspace applications
Ability to quickly learn and use inventory management, shipping and e-commerce computer applications/platforms
Attention to detail and accuracy in using multiple information sources, including reports and databases
Ability to identify problems and potential problems based on information content/patterns from diverse sources
Effective and professional communication skills using email, telephone, and other technological devices

Other Helpful Background:
Associate’s degree or equivalent
Warehouse and inventory management experience
E-commerce experience
Proficiency with Shopify, Ship Station, Fedex shipping, USPS shipping or Amazon systems
Forklift experience and certification

Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with 30-minute meal break
Location -18450 Showalter Rd, Unit 3, Hagerstown, MD 21742, 12343 Carroll Ave., Rockville, MD 20852 and other company locations
Setting - In warehouse daily
Travel:
Regular regional travel (1 to 5 days per week)

Compensation and Benefits:
