Serving more than 300 residential, commercial, and institutional customers in Franklin County, Compost Co-op diverts food scraps from the waste stream into local composting operations.
The position of hauler involves driving, interacting with customers and team members, and hauling and tipping materials. As a small, expanding business, there is opportunity for workers to learn administrative skills and participate in collective management.
Requirements:
- Valid MA driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Good driving record and experience driving large non-CDL trucks and trailers preferred
- Ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 40 lbs over head and roll wheeled containers weighing up to 250 lbs
- Working outdoors on tough terrain and in all weather throughout the year
- Experience working manual labor jobs preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions

- 10-12 hours per week with possibility of more in the future
- Starting pay 20.00 per hour

After successfully completing three months at the co-op, workers are eligible to join our worker-owner training program, which lasts 1-3 years and prepares workers to become co-owners of the co-operative business.
