Pay: $17.50–$19.50 per hour (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)

Position Overview
The Community Inclusion Specialist plays an essential role in supporting adults with developmental disabilities as they build independence, develop life skills, and participate fully in their communities.
This position provides direct supervision, guidance, and skills training for Journeys customers in a small-group, community-based setting. Community Inclusion Specialists help create safe, engaging, and inclusive experiences while encouraging personal growth and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and supervision to adults with developmental disabilities in community settings
- Teach and reinforce independent living, social, and life skills
- Model inclusive practices and promote meaningful community participation
- Plan and lead engaging small-group activities and community outings
- Encourage customer independence, decision-making, and personal growth
- Communicate effectively with customers, families, and team members
- Use strong safety awareness, problem-solving skills, and flexibility to meet individual needs
- Support a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required
- Minimum of 1 year of developmental disabilities experience preferred/required
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, adapt, and work independently in a community environment
- Must demonstrate excellent safety judgment and professionalism
- CPR and First Aid Certification required
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Forest Grove, OR required
Work Environment
This is an active, community-based position. Community Inclusion Specialists spend each day engaging with customers in a variety of community locations and activities. The role requires enthusiasm, patience, creativity, and a commitment to helping others achieve their goals.
