Registered Medical Assistant

The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) provides direct patient care and clinical support in a primary care setting to ensure a positive patient experience and high-quality, efficient care delivery. Working as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the RMA supports providers through clinical workflows, documentation, pre-visit planning, medication processes, and patient education while maintaining compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Morning Huddle and Pre-Visit Planning

Estimated Effort: 10%

• Prepare Pre-Visit Planning (PVP) materials for assigned provider and primary care team.

• Review and ensure PVP is completed accurately each morning.

• Arrive on time and demonstrate a professional, positive, and team-oriented demeanor.

Medication Prior Authorizations (As Assigned)

Estimated Effort: 10%

• Complete medication prior authorizations for assigned primary care teams as directed by the Lead Nurse or Clinical Services Manager.

• Communicate with patients regarding the status of prior authorizations and next steps.

Direct Patient Care

Estimated Effort: 75%

• Provide excellent direct patient care in accordance with clinic workflows and established protocols.

• Collaborate closely with assigned providers to support quality, efficient patient care.

• Administer immunizations as ordered.

• Perform point-of-care testing as ordered.

• Complete all EHR documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

• Complete daily clinical tasks as assigned.

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all compliance, infection control, and safety policies and procedures.

Service and Other Responsibilities

Estimated Effort: 5%

• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Clinical Services Manager or Director of Nursing and Clinical Operations.

• Attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions as required.

Minimum Requirements

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Job-Related Experience:
Experience working in an office or primary care clinical setting.

People Management Experience:
None required.

Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations:

• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) to three (3) years of primary care experience

Working Conditions

This position operates in a climate-controlled clinical environment. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and using hands for clinical tasks. The role requires regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The position requires the ability to hear, speak, and interact effectively with patients and team members.
