DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure a welcoming store environment that reflects the Co-op’s values and purpose through supporting and advancing existing procedures and policies.
- Assist in curating a diverse selection of products that satisfies our members, ensures business success, and is consistent with the Co-op’s strategic goals.
- Assist in oversight of Fresh Category Departments: Produce, Meat & Seafood, Café, Cheese and Bakery.
- Work in partnership with Fresh Managers to address the needs and opportunities of the Fresh Departments with recipe development, new items and new programs.
- Follow trends closely to develop new and exciting recipes and programs across all Fresh Departments.
- Works in coordination with IT department and Café leadership to update and maintain our Café Kiosk and other platforms.
- Assist Category Manager in obtaining cost data, applying necessary pricing formulas, and confirming consistent and accurate price points.
- Reviews current cost, margin, and price settings for Fresh Categories to verify consistent application of desired margin goals. Also assists as needed with Inventory and the review of Inventory numbers.
- Utilizes Catapult and recipe costing software to ensure accurate pricing on new items across the Fresh Departments.
- Assist in sales growth by ensuring pricing is set within competitive standards; price comps as assigned; Promotions are new and exciting and all SOP’s are followed.
- Reviews invoices from Fresh Departments to verify pricing is set to accurately maintain margin goals. Communicates variances with Category Manager and updates database on changes.
- Help with sub-category reviews to ensure we are supporting top moving items and removing slow selling items. Making sure Fresh departments are using labor efficiently and effectively.
- Assist in merchandising resets while training department team members on merchandising.
- Assist in creation and implementation of planograms, sale displays and cross merchandising.
- Assist in ensuring new product requests and disco requests are followed up on in a timely manner. Also works in collaboration with the Marketing team for new Fresh Vendor Bios.
- In coordination with File Maintenance and Marketing, help ensure that promo support materials and other information is available for timely execution of promotional plans.
- Assist with ensuring that promotional activities are effectively coordinated between stores and departments.
- Work with Category Manager to develop, implement, and maintain a pricing strategy that supports the Co-op’s strategic goals, competes effectively, and achieves the Co-op’s margin and sales goals.
- Maintains friendly and professional relationships with all vendors and direct suppliers.
- Keeps up with industry trends through store visits, publications, etc.
- Provides attentive and friendly service to customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Associate degree or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in administrative duties.
- A minimum of one (1) years’ experience and familiarity with natural foods strongly preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends, or overnights.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F – 90°F).
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Reliable access to transportation.
