The Leadership and Pipeline Development Manager supports the design, execution, and continuous improvement of community leadership pipeline programs at The Commit Partnership. This role manages key programs—including the Civic Voices Fellowship, Ready to Lead Academy, and Aspiring Trustee Workshop—to build the capacity of community members and aspiring school board trustees to lead and govern in ways that improve student outcomes.

This Manager reports to the Director and Senior Director of Commit to Leaders and works cross-functionally to ensure programs are student-centered, data-informed, and aligned to best practices in school board governance. The Manager is responsible for executing high-quality program experiences, supporting participant development, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen leadership pipelines across Dallas County.

The salary range for this role is $80,500 - $94,000.

Please note that for external candidates, the expected salary range is approximately $80,500–$86,500.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Program Management & Execution
  • Manage the execution of leadership development programs, including the Civic Voices Fellowship, Ready to Lead Academy, and Aspiring Trustee Workshop
  • Develop and implement session agendas, learning objectives, and participant materials aligned to student-centered and data-informed practices
  • Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual sessions, including scheduling, speakers, venues, and materials
  • Provide individualized support to program participants to ensure engagement and successful completion
  • Maintain a consistent, high-quality participant experience across programs and cohorts
  • Recruitment & Pipeline Development
  • Execute recruitment strategies to identify and engage mission-aligned participants for leadership programs
  • Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders to source and refer strong candidates
  • Manage application, selection, and onboarding processes for all programs
  • Develop and maintain recruitment materials and communications
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with program participants, alumni, guest speakers, and community partners
  • Serve as a responsive and supportive point of contact for participants and alumni
  • Facilitate connections to resources, networks, and leadership opportunities that support participant growth
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and coordination across workstreams
  • Communication & Facilitation
  • Facilitate portions of program sessions, modeling clear, inclusive, and data-informed communication
  • Develop written materials, presentations, and summaries for participants and internal stakeholders
  • Support messaging and storytelling that connects data, lived experience, and advocacy to student outcomes
  • Project Management & Tracking
  • Translate program goals into clear work plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track progress against milestones and adjust plans to ensure timely and high-quality execution
  • Maintain accurate records of participant engagement and program activities
  • Continuous Improvement & Learning
  • Collect and analyze participant feedback and program data to inform improvements
  • Partner with internal teams to incorporate relevant education data, policy context, and best practices into programming
  • Refine program materials and approaches based on evolving needs, feedback, and outcomes
  • Pursue relevant professional learning and certifications related to school board governance and leadership development

Requirements

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–5 years of experience in education, leadership development, nonprofit program management, civic engagement, or a related field
  • Experience managing multi-session programs or cohort-based learning experiences

Preferred

  • Experience working with or alongside school systems, school boards, or education policy/governance bodies
  • Experience in candidate recruitment, talent pipeline building, or fellowship program design
  • Familiarity with Texas education governance or policy
  • Experience working with Dallas County communities

Required Licenses

  • None required at the time of hire
  • Willingness to pursue relevant school board governance certifications or credentials

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information and data
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally with diverse audiences
  • Ability to present information and facilitate discussions in group settings

Work Environment

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment but may require travel to program sites, partner organizations, or community events. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
